Minnesota December

Cold stars above me
Cold wind surround me
Cold snow enveloping
my world in white
Endless black frozen sky
studded with brilliant diamonds

A feeling of a message we don't know how to decipher
Empty, yet full,
like light whose UV rays are outside our visual scope,
hearing music in frequencies too high or low for our ears.

The snow embraces the world, all of it;
sound, air, draws the warmth from the world
and tucks it deep into the earth.

Shadows lie atop the glistening starry surface
like tarnish on silver.
The air is still, deathly still, sleeping still,
life is hibernating.
